1:1 sketching

I decided to do some action in Skudeneshavn in order to get to know the place better. What I found at one place I took with me to the next where I left it.

Stared of in town.........

This is what it’s all about!!!

Back in town again:

Analysis of the city centre

Three squares

Shopping streets

Narrow passages

Empty buildings

Playing with the public square

A house is to be torn down. What will this give to the Square? What can the new square become?

These are questions I need to ask myself in the search of good places for both the locals and the tourist to be in.

focus points

The list is very clear. The basic needs are for all groups of tourists. The rest which is about what to do, and spend their time doing is not for all. The only thing they all might have pleasure of is a bath.

On the other hand, the last needs in the list which are the abstract needs they all might have pleasure of. Therefore it’s as important to focusing on these needs as well as the basic ones.

-beds

-reception

-breakfast

-supper

-places for unknown

-meetings between young and old

-places to be alone

Needs of the Tourists

There are different groups of tourists. These groups demand different things and can therefore be a challenge to know what to focus on first.
The boat tourists are those which have been given the most intention up until now. The facilities for them in particular are quite good, and are also benefitting other tourists. Like the public toilets in the town which are important both for the boat- and day-tourists.

To be able to know what to focus on first, I have made a form which contain the tourist groups and their different needs. Then I have made a list to fill in to find out which of these things are existing in the town today and what is missing. If it is:

- adequate

-can continue to develop

-has to continued to develop

-has to be developed

-can bee developed
